Abstract

This paper presents a system designed for automation of daily classroom management tasks at a higher education institution using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Beside the common features available in similar RFID systems, like automated students' attendance registration, the proposed system provides automated recording of number of teachers' held classes and use of classroom resources, as well as possibility of integration into quality assurance system at a higher education institution. The system hardware and software components were designed and prototyped at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering East Sarajevo. Preliminary results suggest that the system could be successfully applied in higher education environment.
