Abstract

Saliency analysis from satellite images is harder than saliency analysis from other images, pictures or photos. Because, many different objects look very similar in color, objects seem interfered with each other and with the environment and objects are very small with respect to its environment in a satellite image. In this study, saliency analysis for satellite images is performed. Various approaches are implemented and applied to challenging satellite images. The compared algorithms are explained and their saliency detection performances, precisions of the detected region and time requirements are compared.
