Abstract

Augmented reality has attracted a lot of attention in the past few years. It is seen as a powerful user interface that can revolutionize the way information is presented to the people. With this potential augmented reality offers a wide array of platforms with emerging APIs that utilize different implementation techniques. In this paper we present an overview of the available outof-the-box APIs which offer functionalities that would otherwise be very time consuming to develop. In addition, we compare the features, limitations and opportunities to use these APIs in real-life scenarios.
