New technologies have facilitated the work of developing software applications by providing automatic support during their development process. Keeping up continuously with the latest technologies is very difficult, the reason for this is that many applications that are developed with an older technology or technique are difficult to migrate to an updated technology because the way of their development does not allow their integration or reuse within a more ad- vanced technology. The more complex a software application is, the more com- plex or impossible would be the migration of this application to another technol- ogy. This paper presents the methods and shortest paths for migrating Web ap- plications from ASP.NET Web Forms to ASP.NET MVC, showing the similari- ties and the differences between these programming models.
