Abstract

The process from application to employment involves several phases, the first of which is the pre-selection of candidates. Poor pre-selection process causes either too many or too few candidates in the second round which conse-quently leads to poor candidate selection, leading to time and resource waste. As a solution to this problem, we propose the use of a specialized web application for an objective assessment of candidates' knowledge and skills, as a means of narrowing the number of potential candidates. By doing so, all candidates are given an equal chance in unlimited numbers, the comfort of testing at home and avoiding unnecessary physical contact in line with the current pandemic. A solution of a specialized web application for the needs of the pre-selection pro-cess will be presented in this paper. The proposed solution uses and stores a minimal amount of candidate data, has been tested on a large number of candidates in real business conditions under several foreign companies and has proven to save a great amount of time for all employees participating in the candidate selection process. As a follow up to that, it has also improved the company’s response time which has led to both improved efficiency and participant satisfaction.
